Mining and Fishing are ATLYSS professions with separate experience bars and a current level cap of 10. Both were formalized in the Dediscovery update (102025.a1). Open the Stats screen and select the Professions tab to check progress.
Quick Start
- Buy a Pickaxe or Fishing Rod. Most merchants sell both tools for about 50 Crowns; Torta sells Fishing Rods at a discount.
- Keep the tool in your inventory or place it on a quick slot.
- Interact with an eligible ore node or fishing spot.
- Move to resources near your current profession level. Experience from low-level resources falls as your profession level rises.
Mining Levels and Node Locations

Every character starts at Mining level 1. Ruka, the mining NPC, stands in Sanctum between Vivian's shop and the Barracks. She refines ore into ingots after you complete her related quests.
| Node | Required Mining | Reliable locations | Notable materials |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hefty Stone | 1 | Arcwood Pass, Effold Terrace | Rock, Dense Ore, Coal, Copper Cluster |
| Dense Stone | 2 | Arcwood Pass, Effold Terrace, Outer Sanctum, Crescent Keep, Tuul Enclave | Dense Ore, Coal, Copper Cluster |
| Amberite Ore | 3 | Tuul Valley, Crescent Keep | Amberite Ore, Iron Cluster, rare Starlight Gem |
| Sapphite Ore | 6 | Tuul Enclave | Sapphite Ore, Iron and Mithril Clusters, rare Starlight Gem |
How to Get Mining Level 2
Mine Hefty Stone in Effold Terrace or Arcwood Pass until you earn 73 Mining XP. You do not need a special quest to unlock level 2. Once the Professions tab shows level 2, Dense Stone becomes harvestable.
Efficient Mining Route
- Levels 1–2: Loop through Hefty Stone in Effold Terrace and Arcwood Pass.
- Levels 2–3: Add Dense Stone in those zones and near the Sanctum entrance in Outer Sanctum.
- Levels 3–6: Mine Amberite nodes near the southern side of Crescent Keep or deeper in Tuul Valley.
- Levels 6–10: Use Sapphite nodes in Tuul Enclave. These are the main source of Mithril Clusters.
Fishing Spots
Fishing begins when you interact with a valid spot while carrying a Fishing Rod. Wait for the splash, sound and hook icon, then press Interact or Jump to reel in the catch.
| Fishing spot | Required Fishing | How to reach it | Useful catches |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sanctum Lake | 1 | Use the right white teleport pad behind the Sanctum spawn | Sugshrimp, starter fish, Old Boot |
| Arcwood Pond | 3 | In Arcwood Pass, to the right of the Sanctum Catacombs entrance | Bonefish, Ghostdust, rare The One Ring |
| Crescent Cove | 6 | Enter Crescent Road from Arcwood Pass and turn left from the arrival point | Sugeel, Bonefish, Big Wan, rare Edon's Pendant |
How to Get to Crescent Cove
Crescent Cove is a vanilla fishing spot, not the similarly named Thunderstore custom-map mod. Travel from Arcwood Pass into Crescent Road. From the Crescent Road arrival point, follow the left-hand path toward the water. You need Fishing level 6 to use the spot.
What Are Bonefish For?
Bonefish are profession trade items caught most often at Arcwood Pond and Crescent Cove. Their normal purpose is to be sold to Torta; they are not a hidden quest key. If you are still leveling Fishing, keep using the spot that gives the best profession XP rather than farming only for sale value.
Profession XP Requirements
| Level | Mining XP | Fishing XP |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | 73 | 76 |
| 3 | 95 | 102 |
| 4 | 116 | 128 |
| 5 | 137 | 154 |
| 6 | 158 | 180 |
| 7 | 180 | 207 |
| 8 | 205 | 233 |
| 9 | 232 | 259 |
| 10 | 263 | 285 |
These are per-level requirements, not cumulative totals.
Common Problems
- The node cannot be used: Check the required profession level and confirm the tool is in your inventory.
- An old Wooden Rod does not work: The Dediscovery update replaced it with the Fishing Rod; buy a new one.
- Low XP gains: Move to a higher-level node or fishing spot.
- Crescent Cove confusion: The base-game fishing cove and Thunderstore's Crescent Cove custom map are separate places.
