Skill Scrolls permanently add a skill to the current character's skillbook. They are different from Class Tomes: scrolls teach individual skills, while a Class Tome makes an irreversible class choice.
Guaranteed Guardian Scrolls
The safest scrolls come from repeatable skill quests. If you discard one before reading it, the quest is cancelled and can be accepted again.

Quest scrolls such as Focus Shot, Multi Bash and Curis are quest items and cannot be sold in current versions.
Sanctum Catacombs Scrolls
Catacombs chests are the main early source of Novice scrolls:
- Racial skills: Alacrity, Inner Focus, Leg Up, Siphon Leech and Sturdy.
- General combat skills: Spire and Spread Shot.
- Higher dungeon difficulty generally improves the listed chest chance.
- Siphon Leech can also drop very rarely from Miasma.
This lets a character learn another race's starting skill. For example, a non-Imp can learn Siphon Leech and a non-Kubold can learn Alacrity.
Crescent Grove Scrolls
Normal and Hard Crescent Grove chests are the key source for later Novice scrolls:
- Life Tap: Normal and Hard Crescent Grove chests.
- Talus: Crescent Grove chests.
- Other elemental scrolls can appear in later-zone loot and merchant inventories; check the current item tooltip and source table before committing to a long farm.
Merchants and Gambling
- Frankie sells Spread Shot and other rotating or progression-based goods.
- Skrit's Sikrit Market can award rare scrolls, but it is gambling: the displayed stock is hidden until purchase and the result is not guaranteed.
- A listed “Buy Price” in data tables does not always mean a normal merchant currently stocks the item.
- Thunderstore mods that spawn items are not required for any vanilla skill and can create compatibility or multiplayer problems.
Where to Get Siphon Leech
An Imp begins with Siphon Leech. Other races should farm Sanctum Catacombs chests on any difficulty; Normal and Hard are more efficient than Easy. Hard Catacombs chests have the best listed rate, and Miasma has an additional very small drop chance.
As of version 12026.a1, Siphon Leech is a Vitality skill: both its damage and healing scale from maximum health rather than Mind.
Resetting Skills
Use a Tome of Unlearning in a Safe Zone to refund all spent Skill Points. Sally's Nook and Craig's Bazaar sell it for 1,200 Crowns. This does not change your class or erase the scroll skills you have unlocked; it only lets you reallocate points.
Checklist Before Farming
- Check whether a guardian offers the scroll as a quest.
- Confirm the required level and weapon type.
- Use the correct dungeon and difficulty.
- Keep one inventory slot free before opening a reward chest.
- Do not sell or discard a quest scroll before reading it.
